REWalsh-My Art I was hiking through the winter woods in Upstate New York. It was about 4 in the afternoon. I stopped to rest and was sitting on a log in a snowy clearing looking across a ravine. The sky was winter gray, with ribbons of pale pink on the horizon. Soon the sun would set, and I would have to find my way home by moon lite. There was no wind and all around there was perfect silence. As I watch the horizon a large black crow rose out of the sunset and flew across the ravine. Its cry echoed in the stillness. Chaw, Chaw, Chaw. A beautiful moment in time. I was 12 years old then, and I will soon be 75. That moment has remained with me all my life.
